We are here for lunch right now. We both ordered the Pork and Cheese Pupusas. We never had these before. They were delicious and I'm glad that we ordered them. Great food and great service! The prices are very reasonable and I highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu. If you are in Ephrata, you should really give it a try.

First time my wife and I went there with another couple. Young waitress sheepishly took our order. Waited about 40 minutes for the food but was missing 1 item on our friends plate. Older woman said not quite done but will be right out. It arrived and we started to eat. Oh my, the food was hot and delicious! We each enjoyed our meal together. Young waitress stopped by several times to ask if we needed anything and explained where to pay the check. They made a mistake on both checks fixed them graciously. I definitely will go there again! Great place to tryout.

All the dishes we tried were delicious! The renovated interior looks great. The staff do an excellent job, although we did wait almost an hour for our food. I assume the kitchen is a little understaffed since they just re-opened. The quality and uniqueness of the cuisine was certainly worth the wait!

I recently had lunch at their newly re-opened location and it did not disappoint!! Still has the same family owned charm, and that’s how they are able to nail typical South American style comfort dishes. Reminds me of my Colombian grandmother’s delicious meals she used to make. I’ll definitely be going back. Highly recommend trying the pork chop dish, which is what I had for lunch.

I just had an excellent meal here with my kids. The food was delicious and hearty. We definitely over-ordered, but who’s complaining about leftovers? The pupusas were incredible, and the horchata was hands-down the best I’ve ever had!

It did take some time to get our food, BUT the food was amazing, and I could tell it was made fresh to order. This was my first time having a pupusa, and it was delicious. I got the queso ones, and my husband got the queso and chicharron. They came with a mild tomato salsa and shredded cabbage ( similar to coleslaw without the creaminess). The empanadas were good, different than Puerto Rican or Mexican style.

Terrific family run restaurant with Salvadoran/Dominican style food. I had Locrio de Jamon, and my wife had Carne Asada. Both were delicious with generous servings.

This newly reopened eatery offers a delightful blend of South American comfort food, all served with a warm, family-owned charm. From the moment you step inside, you'll feel a welcoming vibe that sets the stage for a memorable dining experience.

One of the standout dishes that has captured the hearts of locals is the Pork and Cheese Pupusas. As Terry Messner enthusiastically shares in his review, these delectable treats are a must-try for anyone visiting the area. With their exceptional flavors and comforting essence, it’s no surprise that the pupusas have quickly become a crowd favorite.

The atmosphere is equally inviting, with a recently renovated interior that perfectly complements the culinary offerings. Jon Martin notes that while the wait for food can reach up to an hour—likely due to the kitchen adjusting post-renovation—the quality of the dishes makes it worth every minute. Each meal is prepared with care, and the kitchen's commitment to authenticity shines through with each bite.

What truly sets La Promesa apart is its emphasis on familial home-cooking. As Jon Van Den Eeden fondly recalls, the dishes evoke cherished memories of his Colombian grandmother’s cooking. This sentimental connection is evident in every plate, allowing diners to experience the rich traditions of South American cuisine firsthand. Don’t miss out on the pork chop dish, highly recommended for its robust flavors and satisfying presentation.

Overall, La Promesa Restaurant is quickly becoming a must-visit destination for anyone in Ephrata. With great food, reasonable prices, and friendly service, it's not just a place to eat—it's a place to gather, share stories, and create lasting memories.
